At JOA, we’re not only interested in the health of our machines; we also support the health and wellness goals of our employees. Meet Engineering Specialist and employee wellness advocate Megan Rammer.
Megan has been with JOA for over a decade, having started as an engineering intern while completing her degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Platteville. “I learned so much and was amazed at the scale and speed of the machines JOA makes,” said Megan. While Megan is a subject matter expert in absorbent coreforming, she has the skills and knowledge to float between many areas within the engineering department.
Not only is Megan highly skilled as an engineer, but she is extremely knowledgeable and passionate about supporting the health and wellness of her colleagues. When asked to share some of her favorite aspects of working at JOA, Megan said she’s excited that she’s “been able to help [her] coworkers maintain or improve their physical wellness through various wellness programs.” Specifically, Megan volunteers as the lead for JOA’s Go365 program, which allows employees to earn rewards for completing various health and wellness initiatives and challenges.
Outside of JOA, Megan lives out her passion for healthy living by playing volleyball, and softball, going hiking, and spending time outdoors with her husband and children. Megan’s best career advice is both simple and profound: “Don’t be afraid to work hard.” Whether as an engineering specialist or as an employee health advocate, Megan uses this attitude to make a positive impact every day.
